Sleep apnea can feel like the type of thing that’s going to be with you forever. You may find it hard to believe that with some easy steps, you can typically get back to the sleep you once enjoyed (which may be hard for you to remember if you’ve been faced with this sleep disorder for quite a long time). Though you might assume easing back into restful sleep is going to be complicated, you may be able to do so with simple changes and sleep apnea treatment. The best way to find out more? Contact our Livonia, MI team and spend some time speaking with us soon!
#1: Call Us, You Need Treatment!
If you need treatment for your sleep apnea, then call our team! How are you supposed to know whether you really need sleep apnea treatment or if maybe you need something else? Call us. It’s not something you can really do all on your own. When you’re thinking that perhaps something is interrupting your sleep (and maybe you have a hint, such as the fact that you snore, convincing you that sleep apnea may be your burden), then it’s a good idea to talk with us. We can say yes, you need treatment, or no, you need to visit your doctor regarding your fatigue, etc.
#2: Incorporate Music Into Your Fall-Asleep Time
Want to have an easier time going to sleep and you know that certain things like sleeping pills can actually get in the way of effective sleep apnea treatment? Try music. We encourage you to select slower, relaxing, mellow music that can help lull you into dreamland. Try different playlists and even consider “white noise” like ocean waves or rain. This is often all it takes to help you feel drowsy and drift off.
#3: Clear The Room Of Other Distractions
What is it that’s making it difficult for you to fall asleep at night? You may wish to spend time the next time you’re in bed asking yourself if there’s a problem. Do you have a leaking bathroom faucet that you can hear? Does light stream in from the street when cars drive by, waking you or bothering you? Perhaps your spouse has a candle out and the smell tends to annoy you. Clear the room of annoyances. Make sure you have the blankets and pillows you like. When you’ve got a solid foundation for good sleep and you combine it with sleep apnea treatment, you’re headed toward success.
